Project, Change Order, & Claims Estimating

Our team is ready to create your next estimate or change order based on whatever information is available and to the desired level of detail.  We can perform quantity takeoffs from plans or aerial imagery, price different scopes of work based on our cost history or yours, obtain quotes from vendors and subcontractors as necessary, and provide technical/detailed cost breakdowns for your use in explaining the costs of different items with your client.

  • Experience estimating heavy civil construction projects and change orders from as low as $1k to as much as $500M.
  • Vast network of contacts within the North Carolina heavy civil and wet utility industry, including subcontractors, vendors, and owners.
  • Experience estimating, constructing, and managing the construction of the following scopes of work on projects ranging up to $2.3B:
  • Clearing & grubbing.

Pursuit & Active Project Scheduling

Our team is ready to create your next project schedule for your next pursuit or active job.  We have the ability to create and update detailed/accurate cost loaded schedules using Primavera P6 in order for you to make knowledgeable decisions for your project or overall operation.

  • Experience scheduling (and constructing) heavy civil construction projects, MEP projects, and design projects (using Primavera P6 scheduling software).
  • Experience working through all phases of a project which is crucial in order to understand the challenges, logic, and durations of activities in order to create a realistic and accurate project schedule.
  •  Experience in not only construction activities, but also the often overlooked (and highly impactful) activities that allow construction activities to take place, such as:
  • Right of way / property / easement acquisition.
  • Railroad agreement coordination (for multiple railroad entities).
  • Permitting (through multiple agencies).
  • Third party utility relocations.
  • Subcontract/vendor procurement.
  • Design creation and approval.
  • Construction submittals (such as material submittals, work plan submittals, etc.).

Construction Engineering

Our team is ready to act as your engineer when you are in need of an engineer's recommendation or a signed & sealed plan in order to obtain permits or keep your project moving forward.

For example:

  • Water management / pump-around plans for construction in sensitive areas.
  • Sanitary sewer bypass plans.
  • Aerial crossing support type recommendation.
  • Temporary support of utilities.
  • Formwork design.
  • Crane pick plans.
  • Specific activity work plans (as required by railroad entities, etc.).

Design Coordination

Our team is ready to act as your mediator and point of contact when it comes to coordinating your project's design with the engineer of record.  We are able to provide sound recommendations when it comes to constructability, cost, schedule, and the sometimes necessary "sanity checks" so that you can spend your time focusing on building your active projects, and less time reviewing drawings for upcoming projects.

  • Experience in design coordination on heavy civil construction projects up to $450M including the following scopes of work:
  • Storm drainage (both trenched pipe, trenchless pipe, and cast in place box culvert installations).
  • Water & sewer relocations.
